The cottage is a 400 year old farmhouse set among vines and plum trees, completely in the country with neighbouring farms around.
Another great attraction is a wine co-operative, about 3 kms away, where best Bordeaux and Cotes de Duras wines can be bought very cheaply.
4 kms in another direction is the ancient market town of Duras, which has a beautiful chateau, good restaurants, supermarket and farmers' market every week.
The house is not particularly suitable for Winter months, although there are 2 storage heaters, one wood burning stove and bottled gas heaters.
